Waterproofing laying technology

The main function of waterproofing material is to protect wooden rafter system, insulating material against moisture and condensation.

The installation of the waterproofing layer is carried out after installation rafter frame, but before laying the roofing material.

Waterproofing is carried out according to the following scheme:

  • The waterproofing film is cut into strips, the length of which should be 10-15% greater than the length of the roof slope.
  • Waterproofing of a metal tile roof is carried out with sagging to prevent rupture of the waterproofing material as a result of possible leaks.
  • The waterproofing material is attached along the rafters, for which a mounting stapler with stainless steel staples is used.
  • Roofing felt is attached to the rafters with galvanized nails.
  • The joints between strips of waterproofing material are treated with a special sealant that is resistant to moisture (mounting tape can be used).
  • After installing the waterproofing material, a counter-lattice made of slats is installed along the rafters to ensure ventilation.

It is important to remember the basic rule! Without high-quality waterproofing, the service life of a metal tile roof is significantly reduced. Waterproofing coating will help not only extend the life of the roof, but save money on premature repairs.
